Who is Omoda?
Established in 2022, OMODA is a subsidiary of Chery, a major Chinese car manufacturer that sells almost 2 million cars per year in China alone. Now a global brand, Omoda is committed to combining next-generation technology and distinctive design with sustainability and accessibility, they deliver futuristic crossover SUVs with the Omoda 5 and E5, to be followed in the UK by the Omoda 9.
Omoda takes its name from the words Oxygen and Mode (French for fashion), showcasing their inspirations for fantastic car design. As well as offering futuristic innovation, they are also looking to put timeless design principles on display.
Omoda 5
The OMODA 5 is the brands first car in the UK market. It has a 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engine and a fully electric E5 version.
It has a number of safety features, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and autonomous emergency braking.
The electric variant boasts a 257 mile EV range, 107mph top speed, 340Nm electric torque, 0-62pmh in 7.2 seconds, and just 28 minutes fast DC charging (30-80%)!
Other Omoda models
The next Omoda model to the UK market will be OMODA is the OMODA 9, a large SUV with both petrol and plug-in hybrid power.
This may be followed by the Omoda 7 in 2025, which will sit between the OMODA 5 and the OMODA 9.
